Man arrested in connection with sexual assaults in Prospect Park in Reading

Thames Valley Police has arrested a man in connection with two sexual assaults at a park in Reading that are being linked.

Both sexual assaults happened near to the playground in Prospect Park on Monday 13 March.

During the first offence, the victim, a 15-year-old girl, was approached by a man at about 4.15pm.

The offender inappropriately touched the victim before running off towards Waverley Road.

During the second incident, which happened at about 4.40pm, the victim, a 14-year-old girl, was approached by a man, believed to be the same offender who carried out the first offence.

The offender inappropriately touched the victim before again running off towards Waverley Road.

A 30-year-old man from Slough was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. He has been released on police bail until 29 March.
